Project Summary

Dubai Technology Week (GITEX) invited our lab to design and create a simulation of a futuristic bedroom. In collaboration with Canon and ithink, we worked closely with experiential branding studio, Jack Morton, to realize a technological bedroom of the future

Approach

We designed an augmented reality that helped and guided users throughout their daily routine. Using a custom created app on a tablet, participants could choose to interact with two different narratives: The bedroom of a teenager or that of a working professional.
The physical space of the bedroom (bed, bedside table, selves, and other details) was constructed from white material to be a blank canvas. We produced 2 different 4D digital graphic stories that reconstructed the room virtually and projected this over the white surfaces. The end result was a proposal for how we could possibly live in the future hand in hand with technology.
