Project commission from Canon Middle East – Dubai headquarters for a 360’ immersive multimedia installation situated within an interdisciplinary space and meeting room.

Brief

Canon contracted us to realize a solution to dynamically promote the brand and elevate the experience of business meetings and communications in their Dubai offices. We provided a multidimensional strategy by merging Canon’s own technologies with creative 3D & 4D video imagery that tells a story to connect viewers to the brand.

Approach

Our lab closely collaborated with Canon to design and produce an interactive 360’ multimedia environment in line with their brand style guidelines. Utilizing Canon’s most innovative projection technologies, we completely covered the surfaces of a meeting room to create an otherworldly atmosphere.

Projections revealed three diverse scenes that each spoke to Canon’s core fundations: City, Nature, and Technology. Rather than opt for a commercial software for video mapping, we custom made our own to manage the entire installation from a remote control tablet. With this tablet one could turn the installation off or on, decide what scene to view, and control when the client logo would appear within the immersive room. Additionally, this same software could sync the video with multiple projectors, apply soft edge features, modify the geometry of the projections, and organize and publish various scenes.
